Waiting On God Prayer Lifestyle

Discover the “Waiting On God” prayer lifestyle!
There is a personal call from the Lord to take up, then spread the practice, art, and discipline of the Waiting on God principles as far and wide as possible among believers.
At this most critical time, the Lord is raising up His praying people of faith who are committed to contending for the advancement of His Kingdom. He is drawing His united intercessors to learn to wait upon Him continually and partner with Him in prayer for His Church and the laborers to be thrust into the harvest fields to make disciples who multiply.
Isaiah 30:18 “Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.”

It’s essential to start your journey of Waiting on God by, first, understanding God's perspective.
Welcome! We have been praying for you to get here, and we believe our Father has a word for you today –
“Hello, my Child! I’ve been waiting expectantly for this day to arrive. Thank you for coming to Me, just the way you are.
I’d love for you to be still for a few minutes and get to know Me, My joy, and My peace. If you must dash off right now, I understand. But do come back as often as possible! I’ve got some great things to tell you about what I do when you simply wait on Me and spend some much-needed “REST” or “BE STILL” time with Me. Okay?
So, let’s relax so you can listen carefully to Me because I want you to have a rich, meaningful, and fruitful life. My Word says in Isaiah 30:18 that I am waiting on you; yes, you dear One! I’m waiting to be gracious to you, to extend mercy, and fulfill the plans I have for you. However, because I will never force my plans upon you, you need to WAIT ON ME for a little while. Because when you stop to be silent and be still, you will KNOW Me; and I will BLESS you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in and through My Son Jesus Christ.
Yes, my child, when you learn to practice the art and discipline of waiting on Me and simply spending time with Me daily, I will pour out my Spirit as rivers of living water. Then, you will exhibit the fruit of My Spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control every day and in every way. It is possible because I’m the God of the impossible. YES, My Kingdom will literally come, and My will shall be done on earth in and through your life today as it is in heaven. That’s My promise, and I’m always faithful.

Answering the call from the Lord to learn the art, discipline, and lifestyle of waiting on God in prayer.
Originally published in 1896, Pastor Andrew Murray of South Africa penned the book Waiting on God. In this book, you will find an invaluable treasure and adventure of stepping into the very heart of God through prayer and learning to hear His voice. So, through Igniting Prayer Action, we re-published an updated English version of this book in 2020.
Waiting on God is a process that anyone can learn as long as they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, have faith in God’s Holy Word, and desire to have regular prayer with God. The following steps outline a process that will move you into the art, discipline, and lifestyle of waiting on God in prayer.
Read through the 31 meditations found in the Waiting on God devotional. In doing so, keep these words of Andrew Murray in mind: “Let us look to God to reveal Himself among His people in a measure very few have realized.” Let us expect great things from our God. At all our conferences and assemblies, too little time is given to waiting on God.
‘Is He not willing to put things right in His own divine way? Has the life of God’s people reached the utmost limit of what God is willing to do for them? Surely not. We want to wait on Him, putting away our experiences, however blessed they have been. Also, we must remove our conceptions of truth, however sound and scriptural we think they seem; and our plans, however needful and suitable they appear, to give God time and place to show us what He could do, what He will do.
God has new developments and new resources. He can do new things, unheard-of things, hidden things. Let us enlarge our hearts and not limit Him.’
Now, reflect on what you have read; Pray, and if you dare, “Wait Five” (and maybe another Five)!
Read, pray, and wait on God to respond. Set aside about 30 minutes to wait on God each day. Begin by reading a paragraph of that day’s Waiting on God devotion, then pause and listen. Briefly respond in prayer before going on to the next paragraph. Then pause, listen, and respond in prayer again.
When finished with this process of reading, pausing, and praying through the devotion, spend another 10 minutes to simply be still, letting your heart take courage while you wait on the Lord.
Involve your spouse, friend(s), bible study, or prayer group to read, pray, and wait on God together. Begin by taking turns reading a paragraph of that day’s Waiting on God devotion. When the first person has finished, pause to be still and listen. Then briefly discuss and pray together before going on to the next paragraph.
When the next person has finished reading, again pause to be still and listen. Then briefly discuss and pray together. Repeat this process until you have finished reading through the devotion. Then spend another 10 minutes to be still, letting your hearts take courage while you wait on the Lord.
Finally, end by discussing the meditation and sharing your experience of Waiting on God.

How can I become part of a select group of intercessors praying for Waiting on God to spread through the world?

The prayers of Rees Howells and his Company of 120 hidden intercessors at the Bible College of Wales thwarted the enemy in WWII and changed the course of history. Their lives were on the altar day after day as they stood in the gap to turn the tide of the war. It is with a similar expectation that we (IPA) seek 120 intercessors to undergird and propel the vision of a Waiting on God prayer movement now.
To join this Company of 120 requires your commitment to pray and wait on God regularly alone and with fellow intercessors in the Company of 120. If you feel led by the Lord to join us press the tab below.
