Reunions Reproduced Prayer Igniters & Explosions of God’s Grace
Greetings, Precious Prayer Igniters! After five years away from the GACX Forum, I felt the Holy Spirit’s gentle prompting to return. Nancy and I prayed, and a wonderful spirit of expectation began growing in my heart.
From September 28 through October 1, approximately 455 church multiplication leaders and ministry representatives from 48 nations gathered in Grapevine, Texas. The goal was to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Global Alliance for Church Multiplication (GACX). How wonderfully fitting! Just minutes away, at DFW Airport, God had orchestrated my first meeting with my precious bride, Nancy, 41 years earlier!
From 2015 to 2020, I had the privilege of serving as GACX’s volunteer Prayer Advocate through Igniting Prayer Action. During those years, God opened doors and forged friendships far beyond anything I could have imagined.
One was with Dr. Bekele Shanko, the Ethiopian visionary who launched GACX in 2011. It all started with an audacious vision: millions of healthy, sustainable, multiplying churches positioned to reach the nations!

The Power of Praying Friendships!
For years, Bekele, GACX board chairman Dave Gibson, ministry leader Nate Vander Stelt, and I met on Zoom nearly every Monday at 7 AM for 30 minutes. Our beautiful discipline? We talked to GOD, rather than merely talking to one another! We praised Him, thanked Him for our families, listened to His voice, and prayed His purposes into being.
On the opening evening of the Forum, the four of us reunited in a boardroom transformed into a prayer room. For 90 glorious minutes, we caught up on years of God’s faithfulness—sharing our family stories, celebrating answered prayers, and dreaming with our heavenly Father about what He might do next. Our hearts were overflowing with JOY!
A Divine Appointment at 12:15 AM!
Returning to my room around 10:15 PM, I was spiritually energized and wide awake. As I lay waiting on God, I sensed His gentle prompting: Go downstairs. “Father,” I responded, “You often get me up early, but I haven’t even gone to sleep yet!” Nevertheless, I obeyed.
At about 12:15 AM, as I walked across the enormous, deserted hotel atrium, I noticed a solitary gentleman sitting near a pillar. “Sir, what are you doing here at this hour?” He explained that three flight delays had brought him from Toronto much later than expected. I smiled and said, “Well, God sent me downstairs to welcome you, my brother!”
His name was Derrick Chan, a Canadian real estate developer with an extraordinary God-given vision. Derrick designs childcare centers that serve families throughout the week and can also transform into church gathering spaces, seating about 200 people on weekends!
Imagine! Children lovingly cared for, families reached, and new churches planted through kingdom-minded marketplace innovation! We shared, prayed, and dreamed together until 2:30 AM. It was two men meeting, one deserted hotel atrium, a series of flight delays, and a divine appointment, all orchestrated by God! What adventures await us when we hear God’s gentle prompting—and OBEY?
Reproducing Prayer Igniters!
Another extraordinary joy was reconnecting with precious friends, Bill and Rosie Pezzutti. Thirteen years ago, they captured the heart of the WAITING ON GOD and PRAY NOW lifestyle. Since then, they have carried that simple, reproducible rhythm into the lives of thousands of people across multiple nations.
Their lives remind me that the kingdom of God multiplies through ordinary believers who faithfully love, pray, and reproduce the life of Jesus in others!

I also rejoiced with leaders from Harvester Ministries, who have embraced daily corporate Waiting On God across their international leadership community. What joy to see this simple, Scripture-rooted discipline taking hold across nations!

Beloved friends, here is my invitation: WAIT ON GOD. LISTEN. OBEY. PRAY NOW!
Every day, intentionally thank two people for something you appreciate about them. Ask, “How can I pray for you?” Then pray with them, right there!
One simple prayer can open a heart. One obedient step can begin a friendship. And one friendship can ignite a movement that reaches generations!
“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV
PRAY NOW: Father, awaken my heart to Your voice today! Open my eyes to the people You are placing in my path. Give me joyful courage to obey Your promptings immediately. Make me a reproducing prayer igniter, carrying the love and presence of Jesus wherever I go. In Jesus’ mighty name, AMEN!

PRAY NOW: Lord Jesus, establish my steps! Arrange divine appointments that advance Your kingdom. Multiply praying friendships, healthy churches, and disciples across the nations. Do abundantly more than we can ask or imagine, for Your glory! AMEN!
