🔥IGNITE October 2025

Dear Prayer Igniter, What if God desired to activate “The Moses Generation” — the residents in assisted living homes —into the joy-filled, peace-bringing, heart-transforming practice of Waiting on God?

A Prayer Friendship Ignites At The Well in late 2020

When I met this young “entrePRAYneur,” Cole Riley, we knew within minutes of praying together that we shared Christ’s heart to grow His Kingdom in the marketplace. God accelerated our friendship, and early in 2023, He led Cole to move to Traverse City, Michigan, where he did due diligence into buying an assisted living facility. His ‘YES’ to buy decision was partly encouraged by the vision God had given me years earlier, in seeing:

An End-Time Army of Intercessors is Being Awakened in Assisted Living Facilities Across Our Nation.

Whenever Cole comes home to San Marcos, we connect for several hours of prayer and catch-up time. Last March, God led us to begin a 6 AM Waiting On God prayer time together on Zoom every Thursday morning. Then, in June, after reading the day’s meditation and our time of “Silent Waiting,” I declared something significant to Cole that I’d sensed from the Lord. I told him that, in reality, God had called him to be the Pastor to the 100+ staff and residents at the assisted living facility he had acquired. Cole immediately accepted this pastoral charge, initiating a weekly “Waiting on God” Hour in each of the three residences.

This call is exactly what we are witnessing unfold through Igniting Prayer Action (IPA) in partnership with The Life of Riley Senior Care Homes in Traverse City, Michigan. The Holy Spirit is restoring hope and purpose to a generation once sidelined.

Through Andrew Murray’s 31-day adventure of Waiting on God, residents are learning again to sit, listen, and pray. Silence is becoming a sanctuary. Tears are turning into testimonies. And rooms once marked by loneliness are now being transformed into houses of prayer for all nations!

“These I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer… for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” — Isaiah 56:7

The Vision— Waiting On God Movement in Assisted Living Facilities

God is restoring hope by raising God-waiters, including seniors who discover the joy of His presence and the power of intercession. Together, we are seeing a prophetic glimpse of a new movement: assisted living homes becoming joyful houses of prayer for all peoples!

The Beta Model

Our pilot project at The Life of Riley Senior Care Homes in Michigan is blazing the trail. Week after week, residents gather to read Waiting on God, rest in silence, and intercede for families, cities, and nations.

This December 10–13, ministry partners are coming together for their 4th YEAR of daily waiting on God! Our ministry partners remain dedicated to conducting Zoom calls for at least 5 hours a day in 3 languages! For example, our list of ministry partners includes:

We will unite on-site for a time of deepening friendship, training, prayer, and activation, seeking the Lord together for expansion into additional homes.

A REFLECTION BY Colin Millar.

The absolute #1 book I recommend to God-called intercessors is Rees Howells Intercessor, by Norman Grubb. I’ve reread this book four times, very slowly, over the last 20 years. In 2018, during my 6-week sabbatical, I prayer-walked around the grounds of The Bible College of Wales in Swansea.

What I write here is a reflection on a vision of 120 intercessor companies bursting forth in assisted living facilities and schools all over our nation and the nations.

From Wales to the World— The Rees Howells Legacy & The Modern God-Waiters

In every generation, God raises hidden people who change history—not by might or power, but by the Spirit of Intercession. One such man was Rees Howells, a Welsh coal miner turned prayer general who founded the Bible College of Wales in 1926. During World War II, while bombs shook Europe, Howells and a company of 120 intercessors prayed day and night, receiving divine guidance and breakthrough strategies that reshaped nations.

These were not ordinary prayer meetings; they were battlegrounds of spiritual authority. Howells believed that “intercession is not prayer alone—it is a life laid down.” His story teaches us that God still searches for those who will stand in the gap and agree with heaven until breakthrough comes.

One of the actual residents in the Bible College of Wales, with Artistic License, added the artillery effects.

Today, that same Spirit of Intercession is awakening again, but instead, in a place few expected— assisted living homes.

The vision of Habakkuk 2:1-3 is seeing out the Beta Model and fanning the flames across Michigan, Texas, Washington D.C., and beyond. God is raising a hidden prayer army from among senior saints, especially those who have walked with God for decades and are now discovering their greatest assignment yet.

  • “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap…”  Ezekiel 22:30
  • “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…”  Isaiah 40:31
  • “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”  Isaiah 56:7

We do not look to Rees Howells merely to honor history; we look to his life because the mission continues. Moreover, the Spirit is once again igniting prayer furnaces in unexpected places, from Wales to the world, and from Swansea to GHPC in Houston, TX. A God-waiting army has been in training over the past four years, from the Bible College of Wales to the Life of Riley Homes in Michigan; the intercessors are awakening.

  • The Silent Generation is becoming the Praying Generation.
  • Elders are rising.
  • And the God-waiters are taking their place.
