After a special time of rest and romance with my beautiful bride, Nancy, at the Royal Renaissance Resort, I felt an awakened revival and a refreshing in my spirit for Igniting Prayer Action. Then, on Sunday, March 22nd, I had the privilege of teaching and preaching on one of my favorite subjects, “Thriving in the Waiting on God PRAY NOW Lifestyle,” at The Vine Community Church in Buda, TX. The Vine was planted by our church, The Well, in 2022.

A Warrior Meets the King
Born in Austin.
Broken early.
Kidnapped at seven months—held for months by a violent man, my drug-addicted mother was with.
By twelve, I was in a gang.
Shot at fourteen.
Shot again at sixteen.
I didn’t just grow up—I survived.
At twenty, after my daughter was born, I met my father for the first time in Hawaii.
I stayed—Trained—Became a Thai boxer.
Then I traveled Asia, fighting in tournaments to survive and keep moving.
Violence followed me—but so did something else… a sense that I was meant to protect.
In Palawan, I stepped in when five men tried to rob a store and assault a young girl. I stopped them.
Next day? I went to jail because one of them had a father in the police.
In Manila, while walking a woman home, we walked into a robbery.
Three men. One with a knife.
I took them down. Chased the last one into the street.
A crowd gathered. Justice turned into chaos.
And once again… I ended up in jail.
My whole life—fighting.
Protecting.
Surviving.
But never free.
Then one day, carrying bags up to a hotel room—
I didn’t meet another fight.
I met Jesus.
And in a moment…
The warrior who had fought everything finally surrendered to the One who had already won.
NOW, I’m living as a victorious warrior for my King, Jesus.
Our Giving is Never in Vain When We Purpose in Our Hearts to Give
Each time we give, God is able to make “all grace” abound towards us that we may have all sufficiency in all things and an abundance for every good work. [2 Corinthians 9:8] As you consider sowing on good ground, would you seek the Lord in prayer about giving to help support Igniting Prayer Action?
