IGNITE June 2026
Greetings, Precious God Waiters! What a beautiful testimony the photograph below tells all by itself. Tables full of young women, coffee cups, open hearts, smiles, friendship, and copies of Waiting On God in their hands as they prepare for Bible study.
It’s the kind of picture that quietly proclaims a message: A new generation is learning to be still before God! And that’s what this month’s IGNITE is all about… The impact that waiting on God has on the lives of people from all walks of life— multi-generational and multi-ethnic men, women, boys, and girls!

A generation learning to be still before God.
Meet Ms. Esla Garcia
Esla is soon to be married to Zach Ruiz, one of our deepest intercessors and deacons from our church, The Well. He’s also a dear friend and Prayer Partner.

Esla recently shared this testimony with us about her Bible study group:
“Over the past five months, our women’s group has had the privilege of diving into Waiting on God together. We initially started this study because we felt a collective need to slow down in a busy world and truly “intentionalize” our quiet time. Finding peace and grounding during seasons of uncertainty became a deeply meaningful focus for us each week.
We are incredibly grateful to The Well in San Marcos for providing some of these books and investing in our growth with such a wonderful resource. Throughout this journey, we have learned and grown so much as we leaned on one another as sisters in Christ. Walking through these pages together has truly anchored our faith and shown us the beauty of waiting on the Lord.”
The Diamond of All Bible Studies!
Over the past six years, I’ve always stated that participating in a powerful Bible study is always “good” because you get to learn ABOUT God. However, I often refer to Waiting On God as the “Diamond of all Bible Studies,” because as you discover the practice of waiting, you also learn how to SPEND TIME WITH God!

Each time you sit and wait in silence with God, He does the following:
- Slowly reframes your thinking
- Renews your heart with joy and peace
- Gradually restores you to your original destiny in Christ
- Releases His Spirit to work through you during that day
The more you wait on God, the more you’ll see Him work through you.
In today’s rushing world of activity, even during our quiet times and Bible studies, we read the Word of God, check it off on our ‘To Do’ list, and rush on with the day. But…
“Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength…” Isaiah 40:31
Esla shared how she conducted her women’s Bible study group, after having read, waited, and meditated on the 31-Day facets of Waiting On God herself. The study went as follows:
- The study was facilitated during their regular Monday night meetings from January – May.
- They read and discussed for 2 days each week and completed all 31 days.
- On Monday nights, they would meet to pray, spend 15 minutes in quiet time together, and then reflect on the two meditations, which they read individually during the week.
- Then they would discuss what Waiting on God looked like for them during the past week, focusing on those days.
- They had a time to be vulnerable and share their reflections in a group. Then they would pray again together, and also for each other to end. 🙌🙏📖🔥
I also encourage you to do what these ladies did and continue to do: STOP, SLOW DOWN, BE STILL, and WAIT ON GOD TOGETHER!

“Before my women’s Bible study group chose “Waiting on God” for our next study, I was in a season of intense longing. I was not fully trusting that the Lord was always working. Waiting on God showed me the truth of who God is, His character, and how much we need Him. We should wait on the Lord, as if He is the oxygen in our lungs. When we wait, He gives us life. We have the biggest blessing: a God that humbles Himself to also wait on us.
The Lord will always provide, and He is ALWAYS working, even when we can’t see it for ourselves. He is our sun, the breath in our lungs. He longs to supply our every need. “Waiting on God” has equipped me with the truths so I can faithfully, in full trust, wait on God.”

“Hi Colin,
We just finished reading your publication of “Waiting on God” in my life group, and I wanted to say how much it’s helped me grow in my faith. From the calming image on the cover to the devotionals, this book has taught me that I truly need to depend on God every day, all the time. It’s through Him, only Him, that we learn and grow. And receive our blessings, of course! This book is a great reminder of that.” 😊

“Over the course of this book, God has taught me to trust His timing rather than compare my life to the lives of others. I was measuring my journey against those around me, wondering why I was not married yet, why I did not have my dream job, a certain salary, or the apartment I envisioned. Through waiting on God, I discovered that His plans unfold according to His perfect timing, not my expectations. In many ways, my expectations were limiting what I believed God could do.
As Day 13 reminded me, we are in danger of limiting God when we confine our prayers to our own thoughts and experiences. God’s power and abundance of grace extend far beyond what we can imagine. Through this journey, I learned that waiting before God, waiting for God, and waiting on God create space for Him to reveal His presence in deeper ways. I’ve also come to see that waiting is not passive; it is an act of faith and worship. Just as the sun continually shines its life-giving light on the earth, God’s love shines on us without ceasing.
He has been my calm in every storm, filling me with a peace that cannot be explained. Day 30 challenged me not to limit God by my expectations but to trust that, because it is His nature to give life, He is always at work in His children. As I have learned to wait on Him, I have found that His presence is often the very thing I was searching for all along.”
Is the Lord calling you to wait on Him?
Whether you’re feeling led to start or participate in the ‘Diamond of all Bible studies,’ or begin your personal 31-day journey, it all starts with a yielded heart and a longing to spend quiet time with God. God wants all His children to experience the joy of seeing our lives, and the lives of our loved ones, transformed as we spend more time with Him, waiting on Him, and accepting His will for us when He speaks to our hearts!
Also, I invite you to pray for the other ‘diamond’ Bible studies happening across the nation. For example, please pray for the 300+ women from Summit Point Church in East Peoria, IL, who will begin their Waiting on God Bible study in the fall!
And as the Lord leads, consider ordering a box set of 60 books, or getting the paperback book with the audio version for your personal time with the Lord!

With you in the joy of waiting!
