Have you ever been the answer to your own prayer?

Allow me to share in this IGNITE newsletter what the Lord has done, once again! In these unprecedented days, my neighborhood bike rides have become a more intentional “prayer cycling adventure with the Holy Spirit.” While asking God to BLESS the homes and businesses that I cycled by, Noe’s Crepes and their staff stood out, since my Sweetie and I had loved a first meal we’d eaten there a few months back. The next day, we ordered dinner from Noe’s and asked for it to be delivered. Shortly afterwards, to our surprise, Nan, the Tai owner, delivered the meal to our door herself!

Thanking her sincerely, I inquired, “Nan, what is the one thing we could pray for you personally before you go?” Suddenly, my silent ride-by prayer was becoming a spoken prayer!

The Holy Spirit led me in praying for her and then to do something specific and unusual. He led me to add a $100 tip as she swiped my card.

I obeyed with joy. Her brown eyes filled with tears as she shared how her father 8 years ago, at the airport in Thailand, had hugged her goodbye placing a one hundred dollar bill in her hand. Tears filled her dad’s eyes as he said: “My daughter, all I have to give you is this $100 with all my love.” This association with the love of her father opened her heart and I briefly shared how God loves her and her family!  In waiting and listening, I had heard the Lord’s whisper to do something that would minister to a place in her heart that only He could know.  And it all began with a silent prayer.

My request for God to bless Noe’s Crepes continued to be answered through our own lives, inspired by our church planting son, Christopher’s example in San Marcos. I invite you to fast forward into the scene with me in our Conroe HEB grocery store meeting room, masked and at acceptable social distance, carrying 120 of the most delicious smoked with “LOVE” brisket and pulled pork sandwiches to bless and encourage their 100+ staff. Where do you think the sandwiches came from? Yes, from Nan and her husband, owners of Noe’s Crepes. They were thrilled when we shared the idea of the HEB Staff Appreciation Lunch Surprise and got busy cooking.

The staff members were deeply grateful.

I was bowled over when Walter the store director asked if I would share some words with the group! I joyfully expressed how grateful we all were for them and the excellent care they take of our community. A beautiful part of the story is that our dear Muslim neighbors partnered with us on the project. Their daughter, Maria, also drew a beautiful thank you card which we copied and gave to every person. I was even able to pray God’s blessing and favor over them and the food. Walter said they will put this story in their company newsletter going to their 300 stores. Now, that’s an “eye has not seen, ear has not heard” (Isaiah 64:4) encounter! It was the most glorious time. Gratitude and appreciation are often the keys that open the door of hearts so the Holy Spirit can minister.

So look for the COVID 19 + s that God may want to use you to bring to others in these days. Our enablement to be a blessing to others comes through your generous gifts to Igniting Prayer Action.

Please ask God if He would have you share a gift with here: Give Here.
