In 2012, while serving with GMO, I flew to Mexico City for an online missionary celebration. I had a PRAY NOW opportunity with Eli and her daughter Elisabeth, who had recently lost their husband and father. As the Lord often does, when praying amidst tears of grief and compassion, we experience miracles. We developed an immediate bond of friendship which grew over the two days of the prayer teaching and celebration. As we departed, Eli granted my request to “spiritually adopt” Elisabeth as our daughter.
Elisabeth and Eli grew in family friendship with us over the years that followed. Elisabeth, who had just received her doctorate in education, assisted us with Igniting Prayer Action’s Facebook and Instagram accounts and then oversaw the work of translating Waiting On God into Spanish.
Six months ago, Elisabeth reached out to invite me to co-facilitate a very significant prayer retreat that was held from November 1st to the 3rd in Veracruz, Mexico.
